I haven't done anything of interest recently (unless you care that I've been watching a lot of Stargate SG-1 and MacGyver) so I thought I'd post this interesting little time killer I found flouting around the interweb.
Rules/Instructions: Put your mp3 player (or iPod) on shuffle and write down the first line of the first 21 songs that play to form a "poem". No skipping songs! (unless they happen to not have lyrics) Don't cheat! It can say a lot about you based on the music you like.
Don't bide your time
The amount of pills I'm taking
I woke up early this mornin' around 4 a.m.
Why do they always send the poor?
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
It ticks just like a Timex
I'm in the mood, the rhythm is right,
Last time I talked to you
All around me are familiar faces
Some say we're never meant to grow up
I'm lookin' over the skyline of the city
I can't get to sleep
Psycho, groupie, cocaine, crazy
Gettin' born in the state of Mississippi
Oh Mamma, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law
I cannot disguise
The stars will cry the blackest tears tonight
It was the third of September; that day I'll always remember
If I had to
It's alright to tell me what you think about me
Turn away
And for the curious here's the 21 songs:
I'm Sorry - Blink 182 Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two of Us - My Chemical Romance You'll Think Of Me - Keith Urban
BYOB - System of a Down What Hurts The Most - Rascal Flatts Raining On Sunday - Keith Urban
Slow Ride - Adam Lambert & Allison Iraheta (cover) Somewhere Out There - Our Lady Peace Mad World - Adam Lambert (cover)
Some Say - Sum 41 Gotham City - R Kelly Overkill - Colin Hay
Psycho - System of a Down Dani California - Red Hot Chili Peppers Renegade - Danny Gokey & Kris Allen (cover)
Needles - System of a Down Anthem of Our Dying Day - Story of the Year Papa Was a Rolling Stone - Allison Iraheta (cover)
Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin Dammit - Blink 182 Cancer - My Chemical Romance
Oh and FOX's new show, Mental, which just started tonight, it's worth looking at. I'm not going to say it's great just yet (considering I've only seen the one episode) but it's got the potential to be. I mean when you have your lead character stark naked within the first few moments of the show... well you catch attention, that's for sure. But the story seems to be written well enough and I payed a fair amount of attention while it was on (which is about as good as you can get from me, I have a need to multitask all the time). I'll be watching it this summer.
And since my brother has taken interest, USA has a new series starting June 4th called Royal Pain. So far the teasers look interesting enough and leave you questioning just what's going to happen. All I can say for sure is we'll be watching at least the first episode.
In general, even though these seem like really good shows, I'd really like to see a network come up with a new show that isn't a medical drama.
